Bourbon Pecan Pie

Bourbon Pecan Pie in a dishRecipe Time for Bourbon Pecan Pie!

I baked this pie last month and it turned out AWESOME! Everybody that tasted it LOVED IT, I even have a friend that wants to pay me to bake it for her son when he comes back from visiting friends in The Ukraine!

Bourbon Pecan Pie

Ingredients:
1 9 inch unbaked prepared pie crust ( I used Pillsbury)
1/2 cup unsalted butter (the absolute BEST for baking is Kerry Gold — trust me on this!
1 1/3 cup dark corn syrup
1 c sugar
4 large eggs
3 tbsp. bourbon
2 tsp. vanilla
2 c pecan halves

Directions:
Melt butter in sauce pan over medium heat, stirring frequently, until golden brown, it will develop a nutty fragrance(about 5 to 8 minutes)

Add dark corn syrup and sugar, cooking for 1 to 3 minutes, or until all sugar is dissolved.

Remove from heat and cool for 10 to 15 minutes, or until mixture is close to room temperature(very important–if i is too hot, it will cook the eggs)

Whisky in eggs, bourbon and vanilla.

Fold in pecan halves.

Pour mixture into unbaked pie shell( be sure and prick with a fork before pouring in the filling to keep your crust from popping up) I also lightly greased my pie pan to prevent sticking)

Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes, or until the center puffs up and the filling is set.

Remove from oven, let cool completely before slicing.

This is wonderful topped with home made whipped cream, ice cream OR PLAIN!!!!
