Happy Father’s Day to all of the wonderful dads out there! Today is your special day, and all of us at Arcola Feed in Arcola, Texas hope you get to relax and do all of the things that make you happy. Whether that means spending time with family, firing up the grill, enjoying the outdoors, or simply taking it easy for a while, we hope your day is full of the things you enjoy most.

Today is also the first day of summer, so welcome summer! Here on the Gulf Coast, we all know that summer brings long days, bright sunshine, and plenty of heat. It is a season for family time, outdoor work, and making memories, but it is also a time to be careful out there in the heat.

Please be sure to stay hydrated and take care of yourself as temperatures rise. Drink plenty of water, take breaks when you need them, and try not to overdo it during the hottest part of the day. That reminder also includes your pets and livestock, too. Make sure they have plenty of fresh, clean water and access to shade so they can stay safe and comfortable through the summer heat.
