Girl scouts is so much more than delicious cookies! Although we love that you can find them at the grocery store this time of year. Girl Scouts is a youth organization that was founded by Juliette Low in 1912, as a way to empower girls across America. 

It promotes compassion, courage, confidence, character, leadership, and entrepreneurship. In addition, active citizenship through activities involving campingcommunity service, learning first aid, and earning badges by acquiring practical skills. The Girl Scout group has a membership of about 1.7 million girls and just under a million adults.

Some famous alums of the Girl Scout group include Taylor Swift, Mariah Carey and even Dakota Fanning. Interestingly enough, the Girl Scout cookie program is the largest girl-led business in the world. They boast over 200 million boxes of cookies, nearly $800 million worth, sold every year.
